"My dad always taught us to provide for your family," says Eduardo Castrejon. "Families first, no matter what."
This core belief drives Eduardo, the owner of Agavero Austell. His story blends deep local roots with a rich family legacy in the restaurant business, all centered right here in Mableton.
A Changing Hometown
Eduardo has seen Mableton evolve firsthand. "I was born pretty much down the street in the hospital," he notes, referring to Wellstar Cobb Hospital. He grew up in the area and graduated from Osborne High School.
He remembers a time when residents had to leave town for entertainment. "When I hit my 20s, I would go to the [Atlanta]... to go do fun activities," Eduardo recalls.
"Now I pretty much don't step out of Mableton at all," he points out. "I work in Mableton." "I eat in Mableton." He even notes his frequent use of the local trails. "I do everything in Mableton," he says.
He views this recent local growth as a massive positive for residents. "It's becoming more versatile, more fun," he explains.
The Pull of Hospitality
Eduardo is a third-generation restaurateur, but his path was not direct. Despite his father’s 30-year career in the business, his immigrant parents pushed for a traditional education. Eduardo tried college and earned his HVAC certifications, but the family trade ultimately won out.
"I never went in the industry," he says regarding his HVAC training. Instead, working at his brother's restaurant sparked his true passion. "I fell in love with it," he shares. "I just devoted myself to the restaurant industry."
Building for the Community

Opening Agavero Austell meant investing heavily in his own community. The opening process took almost a year and a half. "We were stalling for like two months for the permit, so I was unemployed for two months," he shares.
That investment created something unique. Stepping away from standard Tex-Mex, Agavero Austell offers a vibrant "Modern Mexican" experience. The team embraced a fun Lucha Libre theme, pairing a highly visual atmosphere with an elevated menu featuring molcajetes, salmon, ribeyes, and their signature cocktails.
Now that the doors are open, he focuses entirely on his family's most important lesson. "The people's number one," Eduardo emphasizes. "The customer number one."
Agavero Austell is more than just another restaurant.
This vibrant space represents the culmination of a hometown kid choosing to bet on his own community. In doing so, he has not just opened up a place to grab a great meal and a signature cocktail. He has given his neighbors another reason to be proud of where they live.
