In honor of the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month — and the eve of Mexican Independence Day on September 16 — on Tuesday night, the Mexican restaurant Agavero Austell held a fiesta featuring live music and specials.

The popular Mexican-American band Grupo Rye, referred to as a corridos tumbados group based in Atlanta, performed on the restaurant's patio. Corrido is a traditional Mexican ballad or story song about history and daily life using acoustic guitars and horns, while tumbado means cool or street style, which brings in more modern elements.

The crowd was filled with Mexican jerseys from this year's World Cup as well as prior year jerseys, while the margarita pitchers 🍹 and steaming fajita platters filled the festivities.
